At the Annual General Meeting held on 1st May 2025, it was agreed that, due to the absence of a volunteer to take on the role of Chairperson, Adele’s Princess Wish would transition from operating as a registered charity to functioning as a fundraising committee. This decision was taken in light of the considerable administrative demands placed on committee members, all of whom already have significant commitments. The lack of a Chairperson and the administrative workload associated with grant applications and regulatory requirements made it clear that a more streamlined approach would be beneficial for all involved.
Moving forward, Adele’s Princess Wish will focus on personal fundraising efforts for children with cancer, supporting families and individuals directly rather than being encumbered by charitable administration. The legacy of Adele Edwards will be honoured through these targeted fundraising activities, which will continue to provide supplies and support to families on children’s cancer wards, as has been done in the past. Anyone wishing to seek assistance with personal fundraising is encouraged to contact the committee via private message on Facebook or by email.
Some of the funds already raised have been donated to prominent children’s cancer charities, including the Teenage Cancer Trust and Children with Cancer. Over the coming months, the committee will continue to support a range of children’s cancer charities, as well as provide much-needed personal supplies to children’s cancer wards throughout the country.
The committee extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported Adele’s Princess Wish over the past five years and more. Their generosity and commitment have enabled the group to make a meaningful difference, and the committee looks forward to continuing fundraising efforts in Adele’s name, just as she would have wished.

Adele Edwards lost her battle with cancer on 28th January 2020. The year before her death Adele met a pony-mad little girl at a horse show who was diagnosed with a brain tumour. After chatting with Grace's Mum, Adele found it appalling that she had no help with the small things when it came to Grace's hospital visits like the train fares, time off work etc. At that moment Adele decided she would raise money to help Grace and her family. It was because of Adele's tenacity her wish came true and Grace benefitted from a range of fundraising activities. These continued right up to the week before Adele passed away. In memory of Adele's relentless drive, her family and friends thought it would be a great way to honour her generous nature. Adele's Princess Wish charity was set-up and is a testament to her legacy.
To provide relief from financial hardship to parents of children diagnosed with cancer. We will achieve this by providing grants to support travel and other related costs required to enable the treatment and/or rehabilitation of the child/ren.
